Klairs Skincare Product Photography Portfolio
This advertising photography project for Klairs encompasses a wide range of skincare and cleansing products, focusing on translating each item’s essence and brand philosophy into clear visual narratives. The goal was not simply to highlight packaging, but to express texture, purpose, and feeling—especially important for cosmetics where the formulation speaks louder than words.
For the water-based gel cream and facial mist, the concept focused on hydration and freshness. Using water movement, suspended droplets, and diffused lighting through glass, the images evoke a sense of lightness and purity. In contrast, the cleansing bars were styled around themes of “natural” and “gentle,” incorporating wood textures, linen cloth, and simple grooming accessories to create an earthy, authentic feel.
The essence of this shoot lies in intentional simplicity. Each product was staged to emphasize its intrinsic characteristics without visual clutter. Lighting setups were tailored with discipline, aiming to reveal rather than decorate. This aligns with AHNTONE Studio’s creative ethos: refined restraint with purpose.
This portfolio demonstrates the studio’s structural approach to product styling, its agility across different skincare lines, and its ability to visually interpret brand identity through considered composition and light.
The Klairs Skincare Advertising Photography Portfolio is anchored in restraint and clean styling. Lighting setups balanced soft diffusion and highlight placement to express product texture and maintain a polished look. Color tones were adjusted carefully to align with the brand’s refined visual identity. This mirrors AHNTONE Studio’s creative ethos of minimalism paired with intentional functionality.
However, such simplified art direction requires ongoing discipline. Overly expressive staging risks disconnecting from the client’s goals, while excessive simplicity can reduce creative engagement. In this project, choices were made to sacrifice dramatic angles, avoid distortion, and maintain open space in the frame to ensure the product remains central. With Klairs being rooted in skincare, the final styling demanded control and refinement over bold experimentation.
